It’s Prom Time! Our first prom this year was for Monument Mountain Regional High School. We transformed the spacious Grand Ballroom at the Berkshire Crowne to a modern trendy clublike atmosphere with LED Uplighting and texture projections on each end wall.

We had the pleasure of lighting the Dancing With The Stars 30th Anniversary Gala of the Hospice In The Berkshires agency this weekend. Held at the Pittsfield Crowne Plaza, this event required full room uplighting, a custom gobo projection and 2 moving light fixtures to project star gobos and to serve as follow spots for different events around the room. We were able to match the uplighting for each dance set with each dance couple’s costume colors. The event was simulcast and also taped live for rebroadcast, so our challenge was to evenly light a 20 by 40 foot dance floor with broadcast quality light, while maintaining the integrity of the wall washes and gobos.

We had the opportunity to play around with some of our friends at the Delaney House this past week, Durocher Florist, Robert Charles Photography, and CJC Event Lighting are working on a marketing project that you will see the results of shortly. Here are a few sneak peeks at the shoot. It was fun to work with some colors that we might not otherwise get a chance to use… (please note that these are my own photos, the real images taken by Bob from Robert Charles are amazing!!)

It’s difficult to improve upon the view from the top of The Prudential Center Tower in Boston. So the next best thing is to set the mood inside the Skywalk Observatory on the 50th floor of The Pru. We were asked to provide uplighting for the Gordon College senior formal. We used the “Fighting Scots” school color blue to highlight the 24 exterior columns that surround the observatory. We also uplit the entrance area and bar areas to create a welcoming atmosphere to the space and provide an “urban cool” feel.

The West section
Florian Hall is a classic Boston area venue. Here we have used simple LED uplights to cast a glow over the reception. We highlighted tables with pinspots and outlined the bar area with lighted ivy.
